22 Aug 2010: Changes For Today
The injury news is mixed as far as the A-Plant Tigers are concerned ahead of the meeting with Berwick this afternoon. Captain Lee Dicken has been declared fit to return and he takes his place in the team at number 2 but John Branney is still a few days away from a return and it is hoped that he will come back at home to Newcastle next Sunday. The rider replacement facility will be in operation for him today.

Berwick recorded a sensational victory over Newcastle at home last night but at a cost with popular reserve Michal Rajkowski suffering a nasty leg injury. Early reports that he has broken the leg are not yet confirmed as the rider will be checking in at the hospital later today but is unfit to ride and his place is taken by Newport's Alex Davies, who guests at number 7.

The meeting will commence at the usual start time of 4.00pm

19 Aug 2010: Bandits Want Revenge
Berwick are in the mood for revenge after our win there earlier in the season and they will come into the meeting full of confidence. Once again though, our team is very much uncertain with injury ruling out John Branney and Lee Dicken from the trip to Newport, but both have not yet ruled themselves out for Sunday, indeed both are hopeful of a return against the Borderers.

Below is the full press release ahead of the meeting.

19 Aug 2010: Changes For Newport
Lee Dicken and John Branney have once again failed to make it in time for the trip to Newport on Friday night although both plan a workout before the weekend with a view to Sunday.

Branney is hoping to get some form of practice on Saturday at Workington, either at Derwent Park or the training track at Northside to see if he can overcome some back pain ahead of the meeting with Berwick, while Dicken has had a recent change of medication which hopefully with a couple of extra days may be fit for Sunday too.

In the meantime Michal Rajkowski, a hero at Somerset, will once again guest in the place of John, with rider replacement coming for Lee. Joe Screen will captain the side in Lee's absence. It is expected that Joe will be fit to race after suffering from flu all week.

08 Aug 2010: Injury and Guest Update
It was a rough old day for the A-Plant Tigers on Sunday with injury concerns to the fore. The Sunday night update confirms that both John Branney and Lee Dicken will miss the clash with Somerset on the television tomorrow so a guest has been booked in the shape of Mikael Rajkowski of Berwick. He will guest in place of Branney with rider replacement for Lee.

The slightly better news comes in the shape of Nick Morris, whose hip injury sustained in a frightening crash has eased considerably and it is hoped that if he does not suffer any overnight reaction, will be fit to take his place in the side.

07 Aug 2010: Best Ashfield Opponents Arrive On Sunday
Workington have the best record of any visiting side at Ashfield in the league and they come again looking for points. They are well in the hunt for a top four place but will need at least two away wins to get there. They came very close to a win at Birmingham on Wednesday so they are well in form.

The Tigers will wait until the last minute for John Branney, although he is very doubtful. He definitely misses the trip to Rye House and will leave it until Sunday morning to decide on his fitness for Sunday.
