02 Sep 2010: Title Could Be Decided This Weekend! |
Glasgow's greatest rival could be crowned Premier League champions this weekend. That should be enough to make this one of the most tense meetings in many seasons. The Monarchs will win the league if they take a point at Stoke on Saturday night but should that meeting be postponed or should they lose and not take a bonus point then the same opportunity will befall them at Ashfield.
This could not be coming at a worse time for the Tigers as there are injury worries over no fewer than 5 riders, two are already ruled out and there are still two more meetings to race prior to the Derby clash!
Below is the full press release ahead of the meet. |

31 Aug 2010: Jake Nets Seven Points |
| Jake Anderson is embroiled in a battle with fellow team mate Nick Morris for the National League title. It is a 3 way battle between Dudley, Newport and Buxton for the title and Anderson, riding for Dudley, netted 7 points from his 4 rides on Tuesday night to assist the Heathens to a comfortable 58-33 win over Newport. |

31 Aug 2010: Injury Update |
In the wake of the double header with Newcastle, the A-Plant Tigers have been left with several injury concerns ahead of the weekend treble against Scunthorpe, Newport and Edinburgh. As things stand we are able to confirm that both John Branney and Lee Dicken will definitely miss the three meetings while we will wait to see how things progress with Joe Screen, Travis McGowan and Josh Grajczonek.
With Lee dropping to reserve the Tigers are entitled to a guest to cover his absence and while no name has been confirmed for Scunthorpe, James Holder will ride at Newport and Jade Mudgeway will guest at home to Edinburgh. We would like to thank both riders for their co-operation. Assuming that the three heatleaders are all fit for the weekend then the rider replacement facility will be in operation for John. |

26 Aug 2010: New Man In |
There is a new face in the A-Plant Tigers line-up for the double header with Newcastle this weekend as Mitchell Davey departs the club. More on that in the press release below, along with news of a change in the riding order for next week as the new averages kick in.
Hopefully too, a full strength Tigers team as John Branney looks like winning his injury battle ahead of the Diamonds clash. |

25 Aug 2010: Team Change |
At the conclusion of the meeting with Berwick last week, the Promotion made the decision to make a team change at reserve. Mitchell Davey was informed that he was being released to allow him the opportunity to gain some much needed confidence at another track. Having returned from injury, Mitch has been unable to find the form or the confidence on the bike and rather than allow that to slip any more, it was decided to make the break.
A replacement for Mitchell has been signed and details should be available on Thursday once BSPA approval has been given. |

22 Aug 2010: Changes For Today |
The injury news is mixed as far as the A-Plant Tigers are concerned ahead of the meeting with Berwick this afternoon. Captain Lee Dicken has been declared fit to return and he takes his place in the team at number 2 but John Branney is still a few days away from a return and it is hoped that he will come back at home to Newcastle next Sunday. The rider replacement facility will be in operation for him today.
Berwick recorded a sensational victory over Newcastle at home last night but at a cost with popular reserve Michal Rajkowski suffering a nasty leg injury. Early reports that he has broken the leg are not yet confirmed as the rider will be checking in at the hospital later today but is unfit to ride and his place is taken by Newport's Alex Davies, who guests at number 7.
The meeting will commence at the usual start time of 4.00pm |
